Mortgage Choice today announced that John Chappelow, NSW Franchise Business Manager, will be stepping down from his role to join the network as a franchisee.
Having held the role of Franchise Business Manager since 2015, Mr Chappelow has purchased a Mortgage Choice franchise in the Sydney CBD. He brings with him a wealth of prior experience spanning the finance and property sectors.
Describing the decision to become a Mortgage Choice broker, Mr Chappelow said, “Over the last five years I have gained tremendous enjoyment from assisting brokers on their journey and helping them meet their goals. Now I am ready to back myself as a broker with the support of Mortgage Choice.”
Mr Chappelow says the decision to invest in a Mortgage Choice franchise was based on a thorough research process. “It was certainly a big step, and I reviewed the options available through other aggregators. But I am extremely confident in the Mortgage Choice brand and the direction the company is taking,” said Mr Chappelow.
“Mortgage Choice has been a leader in the broking industry for close to 30 years, and they have a roadmap for success. This takes a lot of risk out of running my own business.
“The Company’s investment in technology including the new Broker Platform and File Manager, as well as the ongoing marketing support, means a lot of the heavy lifting is already done for me – yet still with the flexibility to put a personal stamp on my own business,” added Mr Chappelow.
The aggregator’s broker community was a further factor in Mr Chappelow’s decision. “There is a real sense of family among Mortgage Choice brokers. I have been deeply impressed by the readiness of franchisees to support one another.”
Mr Chappelow follows in the footsteps of Tzuri Avila, former National Franchise Recruitment Manager at Mortgage Choice, who resigned from his corporate position in April 2020 to become the franchise owner of Mortgage Choice Eastern Suburbs.
David Zammit, Mortgage Choice General Manager of Distribution, thanked Mr Chappelow for his service to the company, and welcomed him into his new role as franchise owner.
“John has played a valuable role mentoring and supporting our NSW franchisees, and he has extensive knowledge of the different franchise propositions available in the market. The decision of not one – but two, of our head office team to invest in a Mortgage Choice franchise is testimony to the strength of our offering,” he said.
“We are delighted to welcome John to our Australia-wide network of over 400 franchise business owners, and we look forward to supporting his new journey as a broker,” concluded Mr Zammit.
