Mortgage Broker

Before starting his career as a mortgage broker in 2002, Bruce developed a wide range of financial and business skills that help him understand the individual needs of his clients. This includes a role at ANZ Bank in lending and in international banking that gave him experience with imports, exports, and forward exchange contracts. He then transitioned to more personalised financing with a large car dealership where he spent five years arranging loans for individuals, partnerships, and registered businesses and companies.

In addition to his financial experience, Bruce established and operated his own small business for several years. The experience of budgeting, developing professional partnerships, and managing the day-to-day activities that made his business successful gives him valuable insight into the financial requirements that will help his clients grow and prosper.

His commitment to his clients is deeply rooted in his own personal beliefs and ethics. Bruce believes there is no-one more important in the loan transaction than the client and he always listens to his clients’ dreams and aspirations as well their actual financial circumstances, enabling the right balance of wants and needs to be reflected in the loan packages he arranges.

He and Jacky have four daughters and nine grandchildren. He is a dedicated West Coast Eagles fan and enjoys playing golf and collecting wine. Bruce loves the beautiful scenery and lifestyle in Albany

“The majority of my business comes from happy, repeat clients and people they have personally referred to me,” Bruce says. “I love making a difference in people’s lives and see that as the most satisfying part of being a mortgage broker.”

Client Services Manager 

Whilst Jacky Downing has a background in clerical positions and also has a Certificate in Aged Care, she has a long history in the finance industry with many years spent in the ANZ Bank Albany Branch as a Manager’s Assistant involved in Commercial Lending.

As Mortgage Choice’s Client Services Manager, Jacky understands the importance of each client’s needs. With her many years’ experience in banking this skill is invaluable when it comes to dealing with the many lenders that we use on a day-to-day basis. Talking with lenders and communicating with the client to keep them appraised of how their application is progressing are two of the many things that Jacky undertakes on a daily basis. Bruce couldn’t be without her!

Jacky likes to keep busy gardening and cooking and enjoys the wonderful wineries on her doorstep here in Margaret River. Curling up with a good novel in front of the fire on a cold winter’s day is also one way to relax after a busy week spent in the office.
