Upon successfully completing both my HSC and a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking, I joined the family business of 21 years. I have now started my own franchise. Personally, I bought my first property at the age of 19, and I have expanded my property portfolio since then.

A few fun facts about me:

For the last 10 years, I have competed nationally in Ballroom and Latin Dancing. This sport has instilled discipline, dedication and drive.
I also speak fluent Russian and embrace the family culture.
On the weekends, I love to ride my motorbike and race my go-kart. I believe that I can transfer my enthusiasm and knowledge towards property for first home buyers of all ages.
My favourite food is ice cream magnums.

Irene Cujko

Prior to joining Mortgage Choice in 2001, I held the position of Branch Manager of one of Australia's leading banks.

Since becoming a Mortgage Broker with Mortgage Choice 20 years ago, I have never looked back! I particularly enjoy working on complicated loans, and consider myself an expert in dealing with clients that are interested in Professional Packages, Multiple Securities, Unit & Discretionary Trusts and other complex loan Scenarios.

I graduated from The University of Sydney with a BA majoring in Economics and Politics. Not wishing to stagnate, I continued my studies taking on subjects such as Commercial Banking & Finance and Finance Law.

In 2010, I won the Australian Mortgage Awards - Broker of the Year - Insurance (Mortgage Protection & Life) - which is truly amazing! Mortgage Choice CEO Michael Russell said, "I want to publicly congratulate Irene Cujko for her motivation and dedication to taking her business to new heights. She is a determined businesswoman who is humble about her fantastic achievements".

Some fun facts about Irene:

Outside of work, I love spending time on our property in the Hawkesbury region, with my husband and my dog (Kashmar); where we have our own orchard, which is filled with lemons, oranges, apples, peaches, plums, pears and native finger limes.
I’ve also been teaching ballroom dancing for the past 30 years, primarily to the Russian community.

Serge Cujko

Serge is a long term Western suburbs local who has seen growth in the area in recent times. Serge's background is predominantly in the finance sector where he has spent many years as a qualified Finance Broker helping both first home buyers and investors through the property and finance maze.

Some fun facts about Serge:

Outside of work, he loves spending time on his property in the Hawkesbury region with his wife and of course, their dog (Kashmar).
Also known as "rustic Russian", where he teaches sourdough bread making courses (and eating it too!)
Serge has his own go-kart - which he enjoys racing in at Eastern Creek Raceway and
He likes to watch all Star Treks series of any kind, essentially any science fiction shows or movies.
He is known around the office fas: Mr Fixit - whenever anything goes wrong, Serge fixes it.

Karen Redfern

Karen is another one of our Mortgage Angels and helps each of our brokers with their clients in order to let them achieve their financial goals. Her role here at Mortgage Choice includes; checking the paperwork clients send through, preparing loan applications for settlement and keeping submitted loans moving along with lenders.

Karen has worked in the finance industry for the past 20 years and celebrated her 5th year with us in March 2022.

Some fun facts about Karen:

She has 2 beautiful children (10 & 9 years of age)
She loves to keep fit and tries to get to the gym as often as possible! (between all of her kids' weekend sport commitments)
She loves being organised!

Shubha Paranjpe

Shuba is one of our Mortgage Angels and predominantly works for Irene, however from time to time helps other brokers too.

As a part of her role, Shubha is responsible to make sure that Irene's applications are implemented and submitted. She does that by working with the lender every step of the way and takes the loan through to settlement. Shubha helps answers any questions that Irene’s clients may have during this process.

She also monitors the progress of all third party referrals eg. Financial Planning, Asset Management, Investment purchases through Blue Wealth.

Shubha has always enjoyed working with people and navigating them successfully through this ever changing process of mortgages and borrowing. After 20 something years she still finds this challenging.

Shubha has been happily married for 36 years
She loves gardening, cooking various types of food and travelling
She also loves going out to catch up with friends

Simone Williams

Simone is another Mortgage Angel and predominantly works for Serge and his clients, however from time to time helps other brokers too.

She started with Mortgage Choice in 2011 and her role entails: taking over the file once it has been submitted and sees it through to settlement. Simone liaises with the bank, the solicitor and the clients if it’s a purchase otherwise, she also works on obtaining outstanding documents, arranging discharges, making sure clients have funds in accounts for settlement and of course keeping our clients up to date.

Fun facts about Simone:

Simone loves spending time with her husband and two boys (or should she say 3 boys)
She loves to read, garden and camping trips
