Greenwood is a northern suburb of Perth, and is located approximately 18 kilometres from the Perth CBD. It’s located within the City of Joondalup and is approximately 5.3 square kilometres in size. Greenwood is bordered by Hepburn Ave, Mitchell Freeway, Warwick Road and Wanneroo Road.

In 2016, the population of Greenwood was recorded as 9,626 people – a very slight increase from 9,611 people in 2011. The predominant age group in the suburb is 40 – 49 years old, with households consisting mainly of couples with children.

Households in Greenwood are likely to be paying $1800 - $2399 per month on their home loan repayments. In 2016, 82.4% of homes in the area were owner-occupied – an increase from 81.4% in 2011.

At present, the median sales price of houses in Greenwood is $495,000. The average rent price is roughly $380 per week.

In the suburb of Greenwood, there are three primary schools and one senior high school; Greenwood Primary School, West Greenwood Primary School, Liwara Catholic Primary School, and Greenwood College.

A small industrial/commercial area resides in the north-eastern corner of the suburb on Canham Way. This area consists of a diverse group of businesses including a tyre store, butcher, hardware, landscaping supplies, thrift shop, martial arts and more. In addition, there is a small commercial centre on Wanneroo Road, south of Canham Way.

The major shopping centre in the area is the Greenwood Village Shopping Centre, which includes a supermarket, bakery, 24 hour gym, pharmacy, butcher, barber, Post Office, newsagent, food outlets and more. Located near the shopping centre is a petrol station, commercial centre and a popular pub called The Greenwood Hotel.

The Coolibah Plaza Shopping Centre is another smaller shopping precinct in the north-western corner of the suburb. There are 10 businesses in this precinct including supermarket, bakery, newsagent and several restaurants.

Greenwood is served by several bus routes as well as a train station, the Greenwood railway station. The suburb is bordered by Warwick Road and Hepburn Avenue, with both of these roads having northbound and southbound entrances and exits to the Mitchell Freeway.

There are several sporting areas and playing fields in the suburb. Penistone Reserve is a large reserve catering to football, cricket, soccer and lacrosse. This sits next to the Greenwood Primary School and is home to the Greenwood Cricket Club. In addition, Blackall Reserve and Warrigal Park are also popular sporting areas. Warrigal Park is located near Greenwood College and is a popular spot for AFL matches. There is also Greenwood Park and Oleaster Reserve that serve as large parks with playgrounds and basketball courts. The Rob Hancock Memorial Golf Course is located in the area, and is home to the only free Disc Golf course in Western Australia.
