Where you can still get a townhome for under $900k in Melbourne

With stamp duty concessions on offer until October 2025 in Victoria, it’s an ideal time to buy an off-the-plan townhome in Melbourne.

The Victorian Government has temporarily removed stamp duty for off-the-plan apartments, units, and townhouses, aiming to lower upfront costs, expedite building processes, and make home ownership more accessible. 

This policy change could open the door for hopeful homebuyers to explore property options in Melbourne that may have previously felt out of reach. 

Melbourne has seen growth in its median dwelling prices, rising 0.5% to $793,000, the strongest monthly growth across the capital cities, according to PropTrack data. That monthly growth was 0.6% for houses in Melbourne, with the median price now $909,000. 

Despite signs of market reacceleration, with stamp duty concessions available buyers can still find townhomes in Melbourne under the median $900,000 mark. 

Here are some options starting from $749,000.
