If you’re currently part of the defence force, you could be eligible for the Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme (DHOAS), Home Purchase Assistance Scheme (HPAS) or The Home Purchase or Sale Expenses Allowance HPSEA
 
DHOAS pays an amount each month directly to your home loan and is based on your years of service with a minimum service criteria. This is for an owner-occupied property only, for a minimum of 12 months.
 
HPAS is a lump sum payment Defence pays to eligible recipients if you’ve purchased your home in the location you’ve been posted to and live in it for at least 12 months.
 
HPSEA allows eligible recipients to claim costs for solicitor, agent and government fees pertaining to the purchase and sale of a home.
