Overall I had a great experience refinancing through my adviser. My only suggestion is that the client be given a complete list of all paperwork he or she may need to acquire at the start of the process. Nevertheless great experience.

Christopher is fantastic. We have used Christopher 4 times now. Every question we had was always answered quickly and if he didnt know the answer, he would get back to us as soon as possible. My adviser took on the job and then went overseas and left his wife in charge who was clearly out of her depth as much as she tried! I spent considerable amounts of time on the phone to the banks trying to sort things out!... Would not use a broker next time!

It would be very helpful, especially for first time buyers, if some sort of information sheet about the loan process was provided that explained the financial side of things i.e. what fees are possible, where these are paid from and scenarios such as if the property is undervalued by the lender etc. Also I would suggest cost estimates should be more conservative.

This is the second time we have used Christopher for our home loan and each time he has gone above and beyond our expectations and done everything he could to get us the best possible deal, even when we threw him the curve ball of simultaneously needing a car loan urgently. It never seemed any trouble for him and was always available to talk to if we had any questions, regardless of how "stupid" the question might be. Chris brokered & processed a complete personal & property loan refinance in his usual calm & freindly manner with life of the loan savings of $3100pa for the life of the loans.
We refinanced our loan and had already chosen to stay with our existing bank, which meant Christopher did not get a chance to advise us as to whether we had the right solution for our needs. I was impressed with Heritage Banks service, they have made refinancing much easier, 4 weeks instead of 6 weeks.
He's the mortgage Guru.

I had a really difficult loan with the bank the dragged on forever. i don't think it was my broker's fault. but it was really awful 4 month wait.

Sometimes, the loans approval process seems to take forever, but I guess that is something that the lending authorities need to improve on.

Chris took the stress and jargon out of taking out a mortgage. Buying our current property was our second time with Smartline and since then Chris has helped us purchase an investment property and set up a Business acount with the same lender.
The consultant provided the reassurance, support and information we required throughout the process. Some product assumptions were made without full information, however his experience and competence was obvious and our trust in this was justified.
We were happy with the service but are finding the bank not as efficient as our consultant. I must say that we are unsure if we will stay with Westpac for the term of the loan.
